Meredith began playing the French Horn at age 13 and studied at the Flinders Street School of Music with Nelson Green and Howard Parkinson. She worked as a freelance musician with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and a number of professional music productions for some years before joining the Band of the South Australia Police in 1993. On moving to WA in 1998, she worked with WASO and the Australian Army Band, Perth. Since returning to SA in 2001, she has worked regularly with the ASO and the AdAO.
